The suspended sentences of the son of the Roland Police chief was recently revoked after failing to complete a drug work camp.

Donald Wayne Edwards Jr., 33, pleaded guilty in August to one count of endeavoring to manufacture, and one count of second-degree burglary stemming from incidents occurring at a Muldrow trailer in June, according to court records.

Edwards received two 20-year prison terms to run concurrently, which were suspended upon successful completion of a drug work camp, all under the custody and control of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections (DOC), according to court records.

Prosecutors said since Edwards did not complete the program, his suspended sentences were revoked. A warrant was issued for Edwards' arrest March 29 for failure to comply with a court order.

Jail records indicated that Edwards was booked into the Sequoyah County Jail in Sallisaw on March 29 where he continues to be held on no bond. Jail records indicated that a hold has been placed on Edwards by DOC.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
