Senior Retirement Fair Is Saturday

Those attending Your TIMES' 2004 Senior Retirement Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Sallisaw High School commons area will get the chance to win over 150 prizes, including a grand prize trip for two Branson, Mo.

Over 36 businesses and services featuring and demonstrating their goods are setting up booths at the fair, which is also sponsored by the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce, Delanna Nutter, Your TIMES advertising manager, said.

The variety of business booths will have information on health, finance, general services, insurance, and various other topics, and each booth will have gifts and prizes to give away to senior citizens, Nutter said.

Free food and drinks will be provided by Marvin's Food Warehouse in Sallisaw, Mazzio's Pizza, Subway in Sallisaw, and Pepsi. Your TIMES booth will also be providing free cookies and punch.

A dog performance by the Old River Kennels will kick off the event at 8:30 a.m. The kennel will present "Katherine and Her Kids" Champion Papillon Dog Show.

Free entertainment will also include a performance by Ramblin' Rob The Banjo Picker of Sallisaw.

Nutter said as a part of this year's beach theme, Your TIMES is also giving away pinwheels to the first 100 guests.

Nutter said Your TIMES would like to welcome new participants to the fair, including Go Ye Village in Tahlequah, Your Eye Shop in Sallisaw, American HomePatient in Fort Smith, Ark., AeroCare in Fort Smith, A.G. Edwards & Sons Inc. in Fort Smith, Economy Hearing Aid Center in Tulsa, Arvest Bank in Sallisaw, River Valley Medical Supply in Clarksville, Ark., and National Bank of Sallisaw.
