Two Missouri men were arrested Tuesday for the burglary of a soccer field concession stand in Sallisaw and for allegedly stealing a vehicle from Fort Smith, Ark.

Sallisaw Police Chief Gary Philpot said detectives with the Sallisaw Police Department, Fort Smith Police Detective Chad Sutton, and Sequoyah County Sheriff's investigator Roger Fuller received information Sunday about a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Fort Smith parked at a home in Sallisaw.

Sallisaw Officer Ronnie Davis, and Sallisaw Detectives Jeff Murray and John Owens went to the home and recovered the vehicle, a 2001 Mitsubishi. Philpot said investigators learned that a Sallisaw juvenile and two men from Missouri had stolen the vehicle from Fort Smith and brought it to Sallisaw.

Philpot said investigators also learned that the suspects allegedly broke into the Sallisaw Youth League soccer field concession stand, and had stolen several vehicles in Fort Smith and Sallisaw. Murray and Owens located the two Missouri men and arrested them.

Jeremiah Johns, 18, and Christopher McCauley, 18, both of West Plains, Mo., were both booked into the city jail on charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, knowingly concealing stolen property, second-degree burglary, and larceny of an automobile. Johns and McCauley are each being held on $12,000 bonds in the city jail.
