TAHLEQUAH - Three wins in three games gave the Roland Lady Rangers another district softball championship on Thursday.

Roland knocked off Jay and then defeated tournament-host Sequoyah two times to capture first place at the Class 5A district playoffs.

The three victories improved the sixth-ranked Lady Rangers' record to 29-5 and qualifies them for the upcoming regional tournament.

A six-run second inning paved the way for the Lady Rangers as they eliminated Sequoyah to claim the district title.

After a scoreless first inning, Roland seized control by batting through its order in the top of the second as Sequoyah made four errors. Stephanie Richards led off the inning with a single and the next three batters-Linzie Roberts, Jessica Flurry, Kenzie Clark and Kerrye Lawson-all reached base on errors.
