Sloan will be one of 77 members to serve on the committee, which is composed of farmers, ranchers and agriculture leaders from every county in the state.
Carson said the members of his agriculture committee will advise him on issues important to family farmers in order to preserve Oklahoma's agricultural way of life. Carson's committee will provide insight and advice to the Carson campaign on issues affecting agriculture in Oklahoma.
"I am grateful to have Charles on my Agriculture Committee," said Carson. "I look forward to seeking his advice because farmers and ranchers in Oklahoma live and work the land every day and know what is needed to keep our state agriculturally strong."
Sloan, a native of Vian, said he is pleased to have the opportunity to provide input about farm programs and problems in the farming industry.
Sloan has been a farmer since 1977 when he took over his family's farm, and he raises corn and soybeans. Sloan has been the president of Sequoyah County Farm Bureau for 15 years, and he previously served as a member of Oklahoma Farm Bureau for 10 years. Sloan also serves as a member of the Sequoyah County Excise Board.
