At 8 a.m. Monday, Sallisaw police was called to the office of Sudden Link Cable at 410 E. Cherokee to investigate a break-in. Sallisaw Police Detective Sandra Girdner reported seeing that the east entry glass door had been shattered on the bottom half and someone had entered the building. She also reported seeing pry marks on a night drop door, and two money drawers had been pried open and the $100 in each drawer had been taken. Coins that were also in the drawers were also taken. Half of a brick was discovered inside the office on the floor. Employees said that brick had been in the parking lot on April 13.
Light footprints were discovered on the broken class. Girdner reported that there were no suspects at the time.
Burglars also struck a nearby business, Quick Lube Express, which shares the same parking lot as the cable company.
Girdner reported that at 8 a.m. Monday employees arrived to find that a back door to the business had been broken in and was standing open when they arrived. The employees entered the business and found that the truck door in the bay area was standing open and the cash register that was sitting between the bay areas had been moved to the office and the change removed.
They reported that there did not appear to be anything else missing or damaged.
A day later on Tuesday, police were dispatched to J-N-L Resale Store at 811 W. Cherokee in reference to a side door being broken. Police spoke to the owner of the store, who said that someone broke his glass door. He told police that he inspected the store and believed that no one gained entry into the store because nothing was missing, according to the police report.
