First National Bank Handles Moffett School Bond Issue

First National Bank, Sallisaw, was the successful bidder on the recent $65,000 bonds issued by the Elementary School District No. 68, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma.

The school district encompasses about 12 square miles and serves the town of Moffett. The school district employs 20 certified teachers and has an enrollment of 325, Superintendent Doug Gordon said.

The bonds were authorized to be issued at a special election held in the School district on Feb. 24.

Proceeds from the bonds will be used to renovate the old rock building to include, but not be limited to, painting and roof repair, as well as to pay all legal, financial, and other costs relating to the issuance of the bonds.
