The owners of Miss Polly's Daycare in Sallisaw were arrested on drug charges Money at the center at 613 W. Argyle, and are now free on bond.

Polly Jean Rosin, 41, and her daughter, Ann Smith, 19, face multiple drug-related charges after Sallisaw Detective John Owens and an Oklahoma Department of Human Services inspector went to the daycare Monday after receiving complaints about the business.

Rosin reportedly gave the officials permission to search the business. Owens reported finding a small amount of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The two children at the home, ages 2 and 4, were Smith's and they were given into the custody of relatives.

Rosin and Smith were booked into the Sallisaw jail on several charges including being in possession of a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a daycare.

Rosin was released on a $25,000 bond and Smith was released on a $10,000 bond.

Rosin reportedly told police she was closing the daycare due to a lack of business.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
