See page one for information about the first accident, which was a four-vehicle pileup on Cherokee Avenue. The second accident occurred at about 12:15 p.m. on Kerr Boulevard, but information about the accident was not yet available Friday morning. At least one woman involved in that accident was taken by ambulance to Sequoyah Memorial Hospital in Sallisaw.
The other two Thursday accidents resulted in minor injuries.
Sallisaw Police Detective Jeff Murray said an accident at about 3:30 p.m. at Choctaw and Chickasaw Place resulted in a minor injury.
Kenneth Dailey of Sallisaw was driving a 1987 Ford Ranger west on Choctaw when he made a left-hand turn in front of a 2001 Saturn that was traveling east on Choctaw. The Saturn, which was driven by Kasey Blackwood of Sallisaw, and Ranger collided.
Blackwood was not injured. Dailey suffered a split lip from the accident, but refused treatment at the scene, Murray said.
Another Thursday accident occurred at about 6 p.m. on Washington and Cherokee Avenue.
Sgt. Houston Murray said a vehicle was turned left off of Cherokee onto Washington when a second vehicle that was following too closely rear-ended the first vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle, who was not wearing a seatbelt, refused medical treatment at the scene, but was taken by private vehicle to seek medical assistance.
