A Muldrow man is facing six felony charges after two sisters accused him of sexually assaulting them on several occasions.

Jerry Dale Green, 48, was charged March 17 in Sequoyah County District Court in Sallisaw with two counts of first degree rape, two counts of lewd molestation, one count of sexual battery and one count of rape by instrumentation. Green is currently being held in the Sequoyah County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

On March 8 Sequoyah County Deputy Billy Dickson was called to the Muldrow Middle School where he meet Jarred Garrett with the Department of Human Services to investigate a possible case of molestation.

Both Dickson and Garrett spoke with a 13-year-old girl who told them Green molested her. Dickson asked for assistance from Investigator Cindy Smith with the district attorney’s office.

During the interview, Smith discovered the girl’s 16-year-old sister was also an alleged victim. When Smith contacted Green about the allegations he became belligerent and uncooperative, according to the report.

Smith was booked in the Sequoyah County Jail and his arraignment was scheduled for Wednesday.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
