The victory was Sallisaw's third in as many tries against Roland this season and improved the Black Diamonds' record to 12-11.
Shortstop Jake Seay belted a pair of two-run homers for Sallisaw in the first two innings to powere the Diamonds to a 9-3 lead. Javier Olazagasti added three base hits and four RBIs, while Valentin Ramos drove in two more runs with singles.
Starting pitcher Kyle Stewart got the win for Sallisaw, combining with reliever Daniel Jacobs for a five-hitter.
Roland catcher Chase Quickel batted 2-for-2 with an RBI double in the setback.
Vian 8, Westville 1
VIAN - The Wolverines claimed their 20th win of the season on Monday as junior Londell Taylor sparked them at the plate and on the mound.
Taylor batted 3-for-4 and drove in a run while also pitching a two-hitter for Vian.
Teammate E.J. Drew scored two runs and batted 2-for-4 and Corey Smith broke the game open with a three-run double for Vian.
The victory improved Vian's record to 20-6 overall.
Sallisaw 7, Pocola 6
The Black Diamonds got all the offense they needed in the first two innings and then held on to defeat Class 2A No. 6-ranked Pocola on Monday afternoon in Sallisaw.
Valentin Ramos batted 2-for-2 in the victory, while Nelson Suarez was 2-for-3 with an RBI single. Javier Olazagasti swatted an RBI-double in the second inning as the Diamonds built a 7-1 lead.
Sallisaw pitcher Daniel Jacobs came on in relief in the fourth inning to get the save. Starter Trevor Prewett was the winning pitcher for the Diamonds.
Gore 9, Central 1
GORE - The Pirates bounced back from a Tuesday loss at Vian by downing Central in a Big Eight Conference baseball game on Saturday afternoon.
Jeremy McElhaney (4-0) helped Gore improve to 16-2 on the season with a win on the mound plus two base hits. He went the full five innings and allowed three Central hits.
Jake White blasted a solo home run for Gore and Josh Caudle hit a double and collected two RBIs.
Central's run was scored by Ryan Allison, who hit a solo home run in the top of the third inning.
