A Muldrow man was arrested on various drug and firearm-related charges Friday morning as a result of an investigation into the illegal distribution of marijuana within Sequoyah County.

Sequoyah County Sheriff's Deputies and District 27 District Attorney's Drug Task Force Agents teamed up and served a search warrant on a home north of Muldrow.

During the search, deputies reported finding substances appearing to be marijuana, along with items of paraphernalia commonly associated with the use and distribution of controlled dangerous substances. Deputies at the scene also reported finding numerous firearms during the search process. In addition, deputies reported that there was a toddler-age child present in the home at the time the search warrant was served.

Brandon J. Keith of Muldrow was arrested.

Keith, 24, was booked into the Sequoyah County Jail in Sallisaw on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor child, possession of a controlled dangerous substance without a valid prescription, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of a firearm with altered/removed serial number, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jail records indicate that Keith is being held on a $35,000 bond.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
