Sequoyah County Sheriff Johnny Philpot said deputies and investigators began July 6 by serving a search warrant on a motel room in Sallisaw. During the search, investigators found substances appearing to be methamphetamine, along with items of paraphernalia commonly associated with the use of controlled dangerous substances.
Marshal S. Hebert of Kaplan, La., was arrested and booked into the county jail on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hebert was released on a $5,500 bond.
A second warrant was served the next day at a home near Muldrow.
During the search, investigators reported finding substances appearing to be marijuana and substances appearing to be crystal methamphetamine and paraphernalia commonly associated with the distribution and use of controlled dangerous substances. Investigators also reported that two young children were in the home.
Jason Ray Bunch, 25, and Stephanie Jean Ballinger, 27, both of Muldrow, were arrested and booked into the county jail on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of minor child, distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within 2,000 feet of public housing, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bunch's and Ballinger's bonds were set at $58,000.
