The alleged drug overdose of a Muldrow woman prompted police to search the woman's home for drugs Monday, which allegedly uncovered various drug paraphernalia.

Muldrow Police Chief Tony Lewis said the search of the woman's home on Deer Run Road occurred Monday, one day after the woman allegedly overdosed on drugs.

One of the suspect's children, her 9-year-old daughter, told a family member that there were drugs or drug items in the house, which led police to serve the warrant at her home.

Lewis said Muldrow Police Lt. Alisha Allen obtained a search warrant for the suspect's home and found drug paraphernalia, including several pipes with residue on them and items used in the inhalation process of drugs.

He said a lab analysis will be conducted on the items to determine what type of residue was on them.

No charges have yet been filed, but Lewis said charges are being prepared for the suspect. She may face charges for having the items in her children's presence, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and possibly possession of a controlled dangerous substance depending on lab results.

Lewis said the woman remains in the hospital because of the drug overdose.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
