Bench warrants were recently issued for seven non-custodial parents who failed to appear in Sequoyah County District Court during the court's child support docket on Aug. 17.

Sequoyah County District Attorney Richard Gray said Thursday that District Judge Mike Norman ordered that the warrants be issued for those who failed to appear as summoned.

Those seven parents for whom the warrants were issued include James Crase, Dustin Davis, Shelia Eddins, Jason Freeman, Rebecca Hamby, Clyde Morris, and Blas Palafox. Cash only bonds for the seven people range from $1,400 to $15,000.

"My office will continue to support the Oklahoma Child Support Enforcement mission, which is to enhance the wellbeing of children," Gray said. "We establish, monitor and enforce a reliable source of support for the families we serve."

For information on child support, residents may contact child support enforcement at 1 (800) 522-2922, or they may visit www.okdhs.org/childsupport.

"You can also call any law enforcement official if you know where these or other wanted persons can be found," Gray said.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
