Following up on information about illegal drug activity at a home north of Sallisaw, District 27 District Attorney's Drug Task Force agents traveled to the home to meet with the occupants. Upon meeting with the occupants, identified as Betty Matthews and Matthew Jones, agents asked for and received consent from both Matthews and Jones to search the home.
During the search, agents reported finding chemicals and equipment commonly associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine, as well as substances appearing to be methamphetamine. Agents also found what was believed to be drug paraphernalia.
Matthews, 30, and Jones, 27, were both arrested and booked into the county jail on charges of endeavoring to manufacture a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were each released on $25,000 bonds.
