Three arrested in separate drug busts

A Muldrow man and two Sallisaw residents were arrested Tuesday and Wednesday in separate drug investigations.

Dennis Coughran, 45, was arrested on various drug-related charges after the makings of a suspected clandestine methamphetamine lab were discovered at his home north of Muldrow Wednesday morning, officials said.

Sequoyah County Sheriff's investigators and deputies and District 27 Drug Task Force agents teamed up to serve the search warrant.

During the search, sheriff's investigators reported finding chemicals and equipment commonly associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine. Investigators at the scene also reported finding substances appearing to be methamphetamine and substances appearing to be marijuana, along with items of paraphernalia commonly associated with the distribution and use of controlled dangerous substances.

Coughran was booked into the county jail on charges of endeavoring to manufacture a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance without a valid prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Tuesday afternoon, an investigation into the illegal distribution of marijuana led to the discovery of a suspected clandestine methamphetamine lab at a home north of Sallisaw.

Sheriff's deputies and task force agents conducted the investigation and served the search warrant at the home.

Deputies reported finding substances appearing to be marijuana and substances appearing to be methamphetamine and alleged drug paraphernalia. Deputies also reported finding chemicals and equipment commonly associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine. A loaded firearm was also found during the search process. In addition, there was a 10-month-old child present in the home.

Jeramie L. Standige and Nicole T. Standige, both of Sallisaw, were arrested. They were both booked into the county jail on charges of endeavoring to manufacture a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor child, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies reported that the child was released into the custody of a family member.
