Dear Editor:

It is with great sadness and disappointment that I see mudslinging going on towards the good Lockhart name. The good people of Sequoyah county know who were involved in the different crimes that were committed, so there will be no name dropping on Ron Lockhart's behalf.

Those good old days when Rex, Sam, were in law enforcement, police, chief of police, sheriff, not too much crime in those days, worse crime may have been moon shining, up in the hills, so everyone felt safe in Sequoyah county, as I was born and raised there, before I came to live in California, in today's world, crime is everywhere all across this country.

My family and I read the Sequoyah Times every week, and I can't believe how much the crime has increased in the last few years in Sequoyah County.

So the good people of Sequoyah County, I do believe it is time for a change, and the time has come to bring back the Lockhart (Ron) law enforcement, and you will feel safer and learn to trust in people again as in the good old days.

Be safe and be happy again, you deserve it when a Lockhart will be in office again.

P.S. I would like to add my two cents: I want to thank Terry Wayne Lockhart for being honest and remorseful for the things he has done, but I think Ms. Valdivia is being a little deceptive and forgetting what she and her husband did.

As you know, Ron Lockhart was not sheriff while all this was going on, perhaps Sheriff Philpot was looking the other way and wearing blinders. Usually a family knows what is going on within the family, so you good people of Sequoyah County, you live there, you see and hear what goes on in your city and county. So judge for yourself and don't forget to vote for Ron Lockhart. He is honest, sincere, cares about the young and old alike. He is a great son, husband, father, brother, and cousin.

So good people of Sequoyah county, trust me, I know what I am talking about.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
