Football fans can win steak dinners for two from Western Sizzlin in Sallisaw by participating in Your TIMES scavenger hunt for football game winners.

Delanna Nutter, Your TIMES advertising manager, said the contest will have two winners each week, one for college games and one for high school games. In case of a tie, tie-breaker game scores must be listed on each entry blank. Participants must include the score they believe their teams will have to break the tie.

All readers must do is hunt for the football games in local businesses' advertisements on the contest page. Participants will write in the number of the team they think will win by the corresponding number on the entry blank. The tie-breaker scores for the high school series are for college teams, and the tie-breaker scores for the college teams are for high school teams.

The entries must be at Your TIMES by Thursday. They may be mailed to Football Contest, Sequoyah County Times, 111 N. Oak St., Sallisaw, Okla. 74955, or may be dropped off by Thursday at the same address.

"Get into the game and scavenge those football wins and scores," Nutter encouraged. "The winners will enjoy a steak on us and Western Sizzlin."

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
