Chad Asher, 18, of Muldrow faces charges of second-degree burglary, knowingly concealing stolen property, and felony conspiracy.
According to court records, Sequoyah County Sheriff's Deputy Robert Gude reported that at 2 a.m. July 30 he was dispatched to Lock and Dam 14 south of Muldrow. Gude spoke with a man who said someone had broken his driver's side window and that his cell phone, valued at $247, and his iPod, valued at $327, were missing. The window was valued at $150.
The victim said he noticed a green Jeep Cherokee leaving the area and he thought Asher was the driver.
At 4:30 a.m. Muldrow Police Officer Mike Porter located the Jeep. Asher was the driver, and he had three juvenile passengers.
Gude asked Asher if he could look inside the vehicle and Gude located the missing phone in the passenger's door. Everyone in the vehicle said they didn't know how the cell phone got there.
Asher was arrested. The iPod was located in the floorboard of Gude's vehicle. Asher told Gude that one of the juveniles put the iPod there while Gude was looking through Asher's vehicle.
Asher told police that one of the juveniles broke the window and took the items.
