Anderson and Kostka competed in queen contest

Kyleigh Anderson of Muldrow and Brooke Kostka of Sallisaw competed Aug. 1 in the 2008 All State Queen contest.

Anderson represented Muldrow High School and was runner-up for the east. She is the daughter of Baron and Kari Honea and Bill and Brandi Anderson, all of Muldrow.

Kostka represented Sallisaw High School. She is the daughter of Victor and Denise Kostka of Sallisaw.

The contest is held each year in conjunction with the Oklahoma Coaches Clinic and the All State Games.

Each school that has an All State athlete in football, basketball, baseball or wrestling was eligible to submit one candidate. The candidate represents all sports and must be a graduated senior.

Candidates are judged on personality, attitude, poise, appearance and grooming, verbal ability and accomplishments.

The Oklahoma Coaches Association and Easter Seals Oklahoma sponsors the event.
