A Gore man was sentenced to 15 years in prison in connection with an alleged rape in which a relative alleged she was tied up and forced to have sex with the man at gunpoint.

According to court records, William Earl McKinley, 42, was charged in March with first-degree rape, forcible sodomy, child sexual abuse, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and a misdemeanor count of domestic abuse assault and battery.

Last month, McKinley pleaded no contest to three of the five counts. According to McKinley's sentence, the assault and domestic abuse counts against McKinley were dismissed.

McKinley was sentenced to a term of 15 years in the Department of Corrections (DOC) on each of the three counts, to run concurrently. Each term will be suspended upon McKinley's successful completion of a sex offender treatment program in DOC. After McKinley completes the program, he will be on probation, according to court records.

Gore police reported that they were dispatched to the McKinley home at 3:45 a.m. March 8.

The victim told police that after she was forced to have sex with McKinley at gunpoint, the victim was forced to perform oral sex on McKinley in front of a male juvenile before then being forced to perform oral sex on the juvenile, court records indicate.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
