MULDROW - The Muldrow Bulldogs spotted Roland an early lead then reeled off 23 unanswered points on Friday night to post a 23-7 victory at Aubrey J. Henshaw Bulldog Stadium.

In the season-opener for both teams, Roland struck first on a six-yard Teven Thompson touchdown run to cap the Rangers' opening possession of the game.

Muldrow got on the scoreboard with a safety and took a 10-7 halftime lead following Dillon Oden's one-yard touchdown run and Colter Smith's two-point conversion run.

After the break, Trevon Fowler tossed a pair of touchdown passes as Muldrow pulled away. Chris Webber caught an eight-yarder and Joe Fate Ransom was on the receiving end of a 19-yard strike in the fourth quarter.

Muldrow's win was the third in a row in this series. The Bulldogs will travel to Spiro on Friday for another non-district game. Roland is at home on Friday against Westville.

Sallisaw 42, Stilwell 0

The Black Diamonds avenged last year's loss to Stilwell, trouncing the Indians in the season-opener at Perry F. Lattimore Stadium in Sallisaw.

Sallisaw jumped out to a 32-0 lead by halftime and new head coach Craig Benson gave the reserves extensive playing time after the break as the Diamonds moved to 1-0 with the non-district win.

Quarterback Matt Oberste opened the scoring with a 34-yard touchdown run and ended the half with a six-yard TD scamper. In between, Sallisaw got touchdown runs from Jeromy Davenport and Ryon Mefford and a 25-yard field goal from Carlos Nieto.

Kyle Underwood broke loose for a 15-yard TD run in the third quarter and Nieto completed the scoring with a 35-yard field in the fourth period.

Sallisaw will play another non-district home game on Friday when the Diamonds host Seminole.

WATTS - Watts rolled up just under 400 yards of offense on Friday night while handing the Warriors a loss in the season-opener at Engineer Field.

The home team piled up 350 yards on the ground and another 45 through the air to give new head coach Kelly Husted a winning debut.

Webbers Falls got a pair of Allen Lea touchdown runs, both from seven yards out, and Chad Dandridge ran in a two-point conversion for the Warriors. Freshman Hunter Hume paced Webbers Falls with 84 yards rushing and Lea picked up another 71.

Webbers Falls (0-1) will return to action on Friday at Bluejacket.
