Billie Mae Collier, 45, was charged Friday with assault and battery with intent to kill and assault and battery upon a police officer, according to court records.
At about 10:06 p.m. Aug. 29, Sequoyah County Sheriff's Deputy Monty Davis received a call from dispatch directing him to a home north of Gore about the stabbing. The suspect was still at the scene.
Davis reported that he arrived at the scene at about 10:40 p.m., and Deputy Chris Keathley, Gore Officer Lester Keathley, and Deputy Dennis Thomas were already at the scene.
When Davis walked inside, the suspect, Collier, was sitting on the couch and was covered in what appeared to be blood. One deputy was watching the suspect, while Deputies Thomas and Chris Keathley were caring for the victim in a bedroom.
"The suspect kept saying, 'He told me to stab him so I did,'" Davis reported.
The knife was located in a laundry basket in a bedroom. Davis took photos of the knife and the victim's wound, located on his left side just under his rib cage.
"The cut was about an inch long and had been bleeding a lot, judging by the amount of blood that was on the bed, floor, victim and suspect,"
An ambulance transported the victim to a Fort Smith, Ark., hospital.
Deputy Greg Cox read Collier her rights and then asked her what happened. She told Cox that she and her husband had been arguing and drinking all evening. Cox stopped questioning because Collier was under the influence of intoxicants.
Collier was then taken to the county jail. While transporting Collier, Cox reported that Collier got out of her handcuffs and tried to hit him with the handcuffs.
