Sequoyah County District Attorney Jerry S. Moore announced Thursday that Ronnie Warren, 44, of Roland pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years in the custody of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Warren was convicted on a charge of endeavoring to manufacture methamphetamine.
Warren was arrested after the Sequoyah County Sheriff's office and District 27 Task Force served a search warrant at a home southeast of Muldrow. The search revealed methamphetamine. Warren has been on probation for previous drug charges.
"Meth cooks are a danger to both themselves and the people of Sequoyah County and will be punished accordingly," Kyle Waters, assistant district attorney handling the case, said.
In another case, Dennis Coughran of Muldrow pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Coughran will be required to complete the Thinking for a Change program while in prison.
Coughran was arrested after sheriff's deputies and the drug task force served a warrant at his home north of Muldrow. The search uncovered a methamphetamine lab and evidence of methamphetamine distribution.
"Thanks to the cooperation between the drug task force and the sheriff's office, we were able to put a drug dealer behind bars," Waters said.
