Seven Arrested In Drug Raids

Sequoyah County Sheriff Johnny Philpot said area law enforcement agencies first teamed up early Monday morning to serve a search warrant on a Sallisaw home.

During the search, officers found substances appearing to be marijuana along with items of paraphernalia commonly associated with the distribution and use of controlled dangerous substances. Officers at the scene also reported finding an undisclosed amount of cash.

Amy Michelle Saylor and James Bryan Robertson, both of Sallisaw, were arrested.

Saylor, 26, and Robertson, 20, were both booked into the Sequoyah County Jail in Sallisaw on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 2,000 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $30,500 for each.

Officers re-gathered Monday afternoon to serve a second search warrant on a home located in the Central area.

Officers found chemicals and equipment commonly used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, substances appearing to be marijuana and methamphetamine, and items of paraphernalia commonly associated with the distribution and use of controlled dangerous substances. Officers also found loaded firearms and an undisclosed amount of cash, Philpot said.

As a result, Glen Alan McCawley, 38, and Pamela Denise McCawley, 43, both of Sallisaw, were arrested and booked into the county jail on charges of manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of precursor substance (ephedrine), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The McCawleys were each released on $25,000 bonds Monday evening.

On Tuesday morning, officers served their third search warrant on a home located in Roland. Officers found chemicals and equipment commonly used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, substances appearing to the marijuana and methamphetamine, and items of drug paraphernalia.

Troy Lee Sands, 23, of Gore, Patricia Gail Sands, 42, of Muldrow, and John Archie Reeves Jr., 31, of Roland were arrested at the scene.

All three were booked into the county jail on charges of endeavoring to manufacture a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of public housing, possession of precursor material (red phosphorous),

to distribute, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance and drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $53,000 each for Patricia Sands and Troy Sands. Since Reeves has two previous felony convictions, his bond was set at $212,000.

Participating in serving the various search warrants were officers with the sheriff's office, the Sallisaw Police Department, Fort Smith, Ark., Police Department, and Roland Police Department.
