Muldrow Police were called March 17 to a possible domestic assault in the 700 block of Oak Street. Muldrow Police Officer Kevin Holt said when he first arrived he found John Mark Skinner, 43, lying with his upper body on the bed and his feet on the floor. Holt reported when he asked Skinner what was going on Skinner started cussing, calling him names and threatening to beat him. Holt said he spoke with Skinner’s son, Brandon, who said that his dad hit his great-grandmother.
Officers spoke with the great-grandmother who told them Skinner came into her house and was angry. She said Skinner became rude and angrier as he spoke with her. She told officers Skinner suddenly slapped her then pulled her hair.
According to the report, while officers were speaking with the great-grandmother, Skinner’s son was speaking to him.
“John became angry then went after Brandon and hit him on the left side of his face,” Holt reported.
Holt said Brandon in defense pushed his dad down on the bed then Holt and other officers took Skinner to the floor and handcuffed him. Skinner was taken to the Muldrow Jail and was carried inside where officers set him on a bench.
Holt reported while John was sitting there, the jailer removed his handcuffs then John stood up and told the jailer that he was going to do obscene things to the jailer’s mother and then took a swing at him.
“The jailer took John to the ground to get him under control,” Holt said.
Skinner was booked in the Muldrow Jail without further incident. He was transferred to Sequoyah County Jail in Sallisaw on March 18 and released March 19 on a $7,500 bond.
