Moffett Fire Chief Bobby Bentley said Monday that this year's fundraiser will offer a variety of fun activities for children, including a bounce-around, a cakewalk, and a carnival set up with food and prizes to win.
Along with the carnival, organizers will be selling cotton candy, popcorn, soft drinks, and barbecue later in the day. The fire department will also be having an hourly drawing with prize winners announced throughout the day.
Moffett Mayor Billy Yandell urges everyone in the area to participate and enjoy the day with their local fire department.
"It is so important for our friends and neighbors to help support these type of functions so that we can help others," Yandell said. "Our fire department works very hard year-round on a volunteer basis, as many of the fire departments do throughout the county, and many of the tools and equipment they need to work with come from the donations and fundraisers that are supported by the local communities."
Yandell said if local residents have any usable items that they can donate to the fire department's yard sale, also part of Saturday's event, they may call (918) 875-3066 or they can drop items off at the Moffett Town Hall any time.
"Anything and everything helps with these types of fundraisers, but the most important thing is to help us so that we can help others," Yandell said.
Bentley invites everyone to come to the fundraising event and spend the day, bring their children, enjoy the yard sale, cakewalk and games, and find a bargain.
