Two Sallisaw women are facing assault charges after being accused of assaulting a minor.

Alicia Wilson, 18, and Nichole Julstead, 29, both of Sallisaw, were each charged Friday with felony assault with a dangerous weapon and misdemeanor assault and battery, according to court records.

Sallisaw Police Officer DeShawna Barron reported that at 10:45 p.m. Aug. 21 she was dispatched to the police department about an assault. She spoke to the victim who said she and a friend were at a barbecue for the football team and were taking pictures for the school newspaper when she asked her dad if she and her friend could leave and go to the store. While the two were attempting to leave, the alleged victim, a minor, said that Jesus Silos swerved his car in front of her friend's car and cut them off so that they could not go anywhere.

Nicole Julstead and Alicia Wilson then allegedly got out of the car with a ball bat and knife. Wilson allegedly hit the window of the car, telling the victim to exit the vehicle. The girl said she opened the car door, and Wilson grabbed her by the hooded shirt and threw her onto the ground and continued to hit her.

Barron reported the victim had a red mark across the back of her neck, and bruising on her nose and left eye. The girl told police this problem had been going on for a while and that Julstead had shown up the first day of school, starting problems.

Barron advised the parent of the girl that she needed to think about getting a protective order.
