Two Sallisaw residents were arrested on drug and firearms charges Tuesday as a result of an ongoing investigation into the illegal distribution of methamphetamine in Sequoyah County.

District 27 District Attorney's Drug Task Force, the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Department, the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service, and the Vian Police Department served search warrants on two homes north of Sallisaw.

Agents reported finding substances appearing to be methamphetamine, along with paraphernalia commonly used with the distribution and use of controlled dangerous substances.

Gordon Hendricks and Angela Hendricks, both of Sallisaw, were arrested as a result of the drug investigation.

Gordon Hendricks, 42, and Angela Hendricks, 31, were each booked into the county jail on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jail records indicate their bonds were each set at $25,500.

While serving the second search warrant, agents reported finding substances appearing to be methamphetamine, paraphernalia commonly associated with use of drugs, and firearms.

No one was at the home at the time the search warrant was served, but that, pending further investigation, arrests in the case are expected, agents said.
