Derek Dandridge had another strong all-around performance for the Warriors. The senior rushed for three touchdowns, threw for one, caught another and had an interception on defense as Webbers Falls notched its fifth straight victory.
Webbers Falls is now 5-2 overall and 4-1 in District C-4. White Oak dropped to 2-5 and 2-4 after struggling to get anything going against a Warrior defense that surrendered just five first downs and 110 total yards.
The Warriors had no such troubles on offense, as Dandridge and Cory Mickles powered a ground game that churned out 270 yards and quarterback Howard Zachary sparked an aerial attack that produced another 256 yards.
It took just three plays for Webbers Falls to put together a 74-yard touchdown drive on its first series of the night. Zachary opened the game with a 29-yard pass to Jeff Burrough. Mickles ran 37 yards for the TD, running over a White Oak defender at the 25 and racing to the end zone for a 6-0 lead.
Dandridge made it 12-0 at the 3:41 mark of the first quarter on a 15-yard touchdown run. Key plays on the drive included 30-yard pass from Zachary to Dandridge and a 19-yard gain by Mickles.
White Oak got its only points of the game on the ensuing kickoff when Skyler Parmeter returned it 78 yards to cut the gap to 12-6.
Webbers Falls had a chance to score again in the first quarter, but lost a fumble at the eight-yard on the final play of the period.
The Warrior defense forced White Oak to go three-and-out and Mickles returned the punt to the Rancher 21. Three plays later, Dandridge ran nine yards around the left end to make it 18-6.
The Ranchers were again unable to get a first down on their next possession. A pass on a fake punt was incomplete and Webbers Falls regained possession at the Warrior 41. On second down, Zachary flipped a screen pass to Dandridge, who went 59 yards to extend the lead to 24-6 with 6:59 left in the half.
White Oak responded with its best drive of the night, moving the ball down to the Warrior 24. However, the Ranchers were stopped on fourth down as Burrough and Tyler Wooten tackled the ball-carrier for a one-yard loss.
The Warriors marched down field and had the ball inside the White Oak five-yard line before losing their second fumble of the night late in the half.
They made up for that on the first series of the third quarter with a 14-play, 66-yard drive that took more than five minutes off the clock and resulted in a one-yard touchdown run by Dandridge. The key play was Zachary's 21-yard pass to Mickles, who made an acrobatic catch just shy of the goal-line.
The Warriors ran more than twice as many plays as White Oak in the second half (43 to 21) and the home team had just two first downs after the break. The first one came on a 64-yard pass from Cory Green to Ladell Taylor, but Dandridge ended the threat by picking off a pass at the Warrior 26.
It took 10 plays for Webbers Falls to capitalize on the White Oak turnover. The touchdown came on a 35-yard pass from Dandridge to Zachary. On the conversion, Zachary passed to tight end Matt Bolinger and the Warriors led 38-6 with 7:16 left in the game.
Dandridge finished the contest with a game-high 147 yards rushing on 32 carries. The senior also completed 3-of-3 passes for 93 yards and caught six balls for 113 yards.
Zachary, a sophomore, was 8-of-13 passing for 163 yards and also picked up 30 yards on six carries. Junior fullback Mickles bulled his way to 94 yards on 18 carries and sophomore receiver Burrough caught two passes for 64 yards.
Fullback Kyle Sprague led White Oak in rushing with 29 yards on five attempts. However, the Ranchers managed just 43 yards as a team while running the football 33 times against Webbers Falls.
The victory kept the Warriors in contention to win the District C-4 title. They host league-leader Midway, which is undefeated in the district, on Thursday night at Smokey Cox Stadium.
