Eual Knapp of Gans and Justin Wolfe of Cave Springs were selected to play at the all-star game along with the Central trio of John Pigg, Skyler Rogers and Andy Edwards.
Knapp, a 6-0, 175-pound tight end/defensive end, was one of the senior leaders of a Gans team that went 10-2, took second place in District B-4 and advanced to the second round of the Class B playoffs.
Central came in third in the league thanks in large part to the play of noseguard Pigg and end/defensive backs Edwards and Rogers. The Tigers posted a 7-5 record and made it to the second round of the playoffs.
Cave Springs was fourth in B-4 and qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 1993. Wolfe, a 5-10, 242-pound senior, was named to the all-star game at center.
Three local players are on the list of alternates to play for Class B All-Stars: lineman Brian Wilson of Gans, defensive back Justin Cantrell of Cave Springs and lineman Dominic Kelsey of Central.
The all-star game is sponsored by the Oklahoma Eight-Man Football Coaches Association and is played in the summer at NEO A&M in Miami. It pits the top seniors from Class B against the best of Class C.
Weleetka head coach Tony Hawkins was picked to coach in the game after leading the Outlaws to their second state championship in three seasons. He'll be joined at the event by three of his standouts: Rodney Bencoma, William Bencoma and Justin Trout. Gans head coach Trent Holt will serve as a counselor for the Class B squad during all-star week.
