Request for Bids

The Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation will be accepting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the purchase and installation of architectural shingles with roll ridge vent. All roof jacks and any other penetrations will be replaced with new materials. This project consists of fourteen (14) buildings located @ Porum, Wheeler Estates project #45-37.

Specifications together with all necessary form documents are available to all qualified contractors, upon request at the office of Margaret Chuculate, Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation, 2260 West Cherokee, Sallisaw, OK, 74955,918-774-0321 or mchuculate@hacn.net.

Sealed bids can be mailed to the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation, P.O. Box 469, Sallisaw, OK, 74955, or hand delivered to 2260 West Cherokee, Sallisaw, OK. All bids must be received no later than Monday, October 8, 2007 @ 10: 00 a.m. Late bids will not be accepted or considered. A public bid opening will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2007, at the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation, 2260 West Cherokee, Sallisaw, OK.

Bids will be accepted from Indian and Non-Indian bidders. Indian preference will be given ONLY to bidders who provide current certification from the Tribal Employment Rights Office (TERO) located at the Cherokee Nation, P.O. Box 948, Tahlequah, Oklahoma, 74465, telephone number (918) 456-0671. Failure to submit the TERO certification with the bid, or within three (3) days of deadline may result in denial of Indian Preference. This contract is subject to section 7 (b) of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act, which requires in part that to the greatest extent feasible, preference in the award of contracts and subcontracts shall be given to Indian Organizations and Indian Owned Economic Enterprises.

The Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Any state or Tribal law that requires the payment of wage rates that exceed the corresponding Federal rate is inapplicable and shall not be enforced.
