Gore Run-Rules Lady Eagles

GORE - The Gore fastpitch softball team collected its ninth win of the season on Thursday afternoon, run-ruling the Warner Lady Eagles 12-0.

The Lady Pirates pounded out 12 base hits and scored in each of the three innings to bring the run rule into effect and improve their record to 9-5.

First baseman Macy Moseley led the attack by driving in four runs and getting three hits. Caitlin Cawhorn, Dena Qualls and Kera Smith all had two hits apiece for the Lady Pirates.

Smith pitched a shutout for Gore while running her record to 4-1 on the season. She struck out four batters and gave up one hit to Warner, which slipped to 9-12.

The Lady Pirates scored four runs in the first inning and erupted for seven in the second before sealing the win with a lone run in the third inning.

Webbers Falls Wins Twice

WEBBERS FALLS - The Lady Warriors swept a three-way on Tuesday by posting a 10-2 win over Braggs and a 7-2 victory against Gans.

Kimmy Carter was the offensive leader for Webbers Falls, going 2-for-2 against Braggs and smacking a home run as the Lady Warriors improved to 5-8 on the season.

Sallisaw Tops Vian, Roland

ROLAND - The Lady Diamonds picked up two wins on Tuesday by edging Vian and Roland in a three-way at the Lady Rangers' field.

Sallisaw topped Vian 3-2 when Heather McCawley's single scored Lyndsey Daggs for the winning run in the seventh inning.

The RBI was the second of the game for McCawley and winning pitcher Amy Smith added another in the sixth inning for the Lady Diamonds.

Vian took a 2-1 lead by scoring one run in the fourth and another in the fifth inning. Alyx Sovo and Ashton Parent drove in the Lady Wolverine runs.

Sallisaw completed a successful day with a 3-1 win over Roland as Smith tossed a complete-game four-hitter. Shortstop Ashley Covington belted a two-run single in the third inning and had another RBI in the seventh to pace the Lady Diamonds offensively.

Roland scored its run in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI from Chelsea Matlock.

Gore Routs Lady Panthers

PORUM - Dena Qualls and Kendra Smith turned in afour-hit performances at the plate as the Lady Pirates rolled to a 14-4 win over Porum on Monday afternoon.

Gore tallied 21 hits in all. Catcher Meaghan Cawhorn had three and the Lady Pirates got two each from Caitlin Cawhorn, Macy Moseley, Candice Long and Kera Smith, who drove in three runs.

Moseley got the win as the Gore pitcher with help from Chelsea Kizzia, who had six putouts defensively.
