* A Fall Festival and Food Tasting is being held from 11:30 a.m until 1 p.m. Thursday at the OSU Extension Building at the Sallisaw Rodeo Grounds. For more information contact Sue Tatham, HCE membership chairman, at 775-4093 or Oma Bounds, HCE cultural enrichment chairman, at 775-7241.

* Oakridge Assembly of God Church, at 1108 N. Wheeler in Sallisaw, will be giving away food to the needy from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday.

* A Halloween Carnival will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Flute Springs Community Center. The carnival will include games, prizes, a costume contest and a food sale, and is free to the public. All proceeds will go to the community building fund.

* The annual Thanksgiving dinner sponsored by the First United Methodist Women (UMW) in Sallisaw is being postponed until the completion of the new church building, Anne Bottorff, UMW president said. Bottorff said the building is expected to be completed in December. The date, time and location of a Holiday Celebration Dinner will be announced later.

* The Fifth Sunday Singing will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the New Hope Baptist Church on State Highway 101. The Sounds of Praise and other groups will be singing.

* A deer chili sale and bingo will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Marble City Town Hall. The money raised will go to the Marble City Head Start Christmas Fund. For more information telephone 776-0443.

* A Fall Festival, to benefit cancer victim Trevon Frye and his family, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Indian Capital Technology Center in Sallisaw. Donations will be taken at the door for the Fryes. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

* Calvary Temple, north of Sallisaw on Highway 17, will hold a Fall Festival beginning at 7 p.m. Monday. The festival will include a pie and cake walk, wagon rides and games.

* A blood drive will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Friday at Sequoyah Memorial Hospital in Sallisaw. To make an appointment call (918) 774-1154 or 775-5111. Drop-ins will also be welcome.
