Lady Fair is an opportunity for women to spend a day pampering themselves while helping a worthy cause at the same time. Visitors to Lady Fair 2006 may shop at 20 vendor booths, obtain health screenings, receive a manicure or a massage, bid on a silent auction gift basket, listen to live music, enjoy a snack or leisurely lunch, and maybe even win a door prize.
All proceeds from Lady Fair will go to Help-in-Crisis to assist the agency in its mission to eliminate family violence and sexual assault through education, counseling, support, and preventive services.
Help-in-Crisis provides a variety of services to clients in Sequoyah, Adair, Cherokee, and Wagoner Counties.
"We provide emergency shelter and transitional housing for women and children who are escaping violent situations," Shawna Morris, Help-in-Crisis Court Advocate for Sequoyah County, said. "The money raised at this year's Lady Fair, along with the support we receive from grants, donations, and other fund raisers, will help us provide services to anyone who needs them."
Students from the Talking Leaves Job Corps culinary class will prepare and serve a light lunch of croissant sandwiches, chips, beverage, and dessert. Morning snacks and beverages will also be served for visitors who desire a break from the day's activities.
Admission and lunch tickets for Lady Fair are $5 each and available at Oasis Health Foods, 111 N. Muskogee Ave. in Tahlequah. Tickets will also be sold at the door. For further information, call (918) 456-5409, email lady.fair@sbcglobal.net, or visit the new Web site www.helpincrisisinc.org.
