Bench warrants were issued in Adair County District Court Nov. 21 for six non-custodial parents who owe back child support District Attorney Jerry S. Moore said Tuesday.

Moore said that during the Child Support Docket in Adair County there were six non-custodial parents who failed to appear in court. Bench warrants were issued for those who failed to appear as summoned.

The warrants were issued for:

-Charles Shade, $40,845.44 owed, and cash only bond required;

-Eukendall Releford, $10,939.50 and cash only bond required;

-Teresa Madison, $10,744.27 owed and cash only bond required;

-Steve London, $656 owed, and cash only bond required;

-Joshua Hudson, $21,982 owed, and cash only bond required;

-Steven Sanders, $13,284 owed, and cash only bond required.

Anyone with information about where these or other wanted persons can be found should call any local law enforcement officer for immediate apprehension. Other parents who are obligated to pay child support paid a total of $1,830 in open court during the Child Support Docket.

Moore said the mission of the Oklahoma Child Support Enforcement Division (CSED) is to enhance the well being of children by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing reliable sources of support for families entitled to child support.

The Oklahoma legislature and Congress has recently enacted laws to allow Child Support Enforcement Offices to collect child support owed from non-custodial parents who receive payments from Social Security, Worker's Compensation Court and regular employment paychecks. Employers can be fined $200 a day for not mailing child support payments which have been withheld from an employee's paycheck.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
