Christopher Mart Rowland, 26, of Muldrow was charged Dec. 14 with one felony count of assault with a dangerous weapon and a misdemeanor domestic abuse assault and battery charge.
According to court records, Sequoyah County Sheriff's Deputy reported that he was dispatched to a home on east Dorcus in Roland. A man who lived there reported that he was riding his ATV at about 7 p.m. Oct. 20 in the Cosner Bottoms area when he came upon a female walking east on east Dorcus. The man reportedly recognized the woman and offered her a ride, which she accepted. She asked to be taken to a friend's home where she could call for a ride home.
The man reported that during the ride, a car approached the ATC from the rear, forcing the ATV into a field, which ran alongside the road. They continued west in the field when the woman identified the driver as her boyfriend, Rowland, with whom she had just had a fight. The vehicle came toward the ATV and ran it out into the field, allegedly causing the ATV to move away from the vehicle. Rowland then allegedly drove back to the road and left the area.
The woman was interviewed and stated that she and Rowland were driving in Rowland's car when they got into an argument and Rowland allegedly hit her in the face two times.
