Construction
Roger Sharp, Muldrow school superintendent, said he reviewed the Indoor Sports project and gave a construction update on the new Math and Science Building to board members.
He told the board the Indoor Sports project was going to start after softball season was finished because the current bathroom facilities to the fields would be effected.
“The current Math and Science project,” Sharp said “ started during spring break and blocks have been placed. We should be able to use the facility in the fall.”
The Math and Science Building will consist a 3,000-square-foot building with alternative education classrooms and some of the classrooms will be utilized for high school courses.
New transportation
School board members accepted the best bid for a new school bus. Sharp said Ross Transportation in Oklahoma City won the bid for $71,000. Members also voted to accept the best bid offer on the current 2000 Blue Bird bus. Sharp said the board approved the bid from Belfonte School—$8,100.
Band fundraiser
A fundraiser for the Muldrow band was approved and began Wednesday. The band is selling chocolate bars to help pay for a band trip to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Mo. The band will also be performing at Worlds of Fun.
New employees
Sharp said all of the non-certified staff members were re-employed during the school board meeting. He said four new teaching positions were filled.
Sharp said Melanie Brunk will be working as the speech pathologist, Renee Clayborn as the high school English teacher and Tammy Rhodes and Kelly McConnell were employed as elementary teachers.
