Gore seeks grant for walking trail

The grant application was sent to the Oklahoma Tourist and Recreations Department Recreational Trails Program. Gore officials applied for a $160,000 grant to provide for a lighted walking trail and bathroom facilities at their meeting Tuesday.

The Gore Little League Football organization was approved to construct a storage building at the Steve Owens Sports Complex pending approval of locations and plans.

The contract with Chris Keathley for Sequoyah County Emergency Management services was renewed.

Horace Lindley, town administrator was approved as the town’s purchasing officer.

A new security system for the town hall, fire department and the police department was tabled. More information and a demonstration of the equipment will be required before making any decisions.

Casey Duke, a new member of the fire department, was introduced.

The Haven Heights water pump station is online and working., Lindley reported. Asphalt for the drive way is still being laid.

The town of Gore and Gore Public Schools have entered into an agreement to extend a six inch water line to the high school to provide fire hydrants.
