Four people were arrested recently after Sallisaw police uncovered products commonly used to manufacture methamphetamines in a trash bag behind a mobile home at Ramms Mobile Home Park.

William Timothy Bush, 29, and Shena Marie Stonebarger, 18, both of Sallisaw, Chazide Ann Harvell, 21, of Spiro, and Cody Rowell, 22, of Vian were taken to the Sallisaw City Jail June 1 after Sallisaw police officers were called to Ramm’s Mobile Home Park in Sallisaw to investigate a possible abandoned methamphetamine lab.

When officers arrived they found a clear industrial-size trash bag containing two plastic bottles with a white chunk substance, one plastic bottle with tubing and several cold packs. While officers were looking at the possible meth lab they saw Bush walk around the corner.

Officers questioned Bush about the trash bag and asked him if he recognized any of the items inside the bag. According to the report, Bush told officers he recognized some of the items, so officers asked Bush for consent to search his home. After Bush agreed, Lt. John Owens, officer Billy Oliver, Detective Herb Hutchinson and other officers walked into Bush’s trailer.

Officers reported seeing Harvell standing in the living room with a small child, seeing Rowell running to a trash container in the kitchen and throw items away and watched Stonebarger take off toward the south bedroom. Officers said as they entered they could smell a strong chemical odor.

“When Oliver was conducting a pat down on Rowell I saw Rowell drop a plastic bag that contained a white powder,” Hutchinson reported.

Officers found chemicals and equipment commonly used for a shake-and-bake lab. When questioning Stonebarger she told officers that she and Bush sometimes buy psedoephedrine for Rowell for either a trade or $20. Stonebarger also told officers when she left the residence after giving Rowell a box of psedo pills he told her that he was going to, “blow one off.”

Harvell told officers that when she arrived at Bush’s trailer, Rowell told her he needed to make sure everything was cleaned up before she and the child came in the trailer.

According to the report, Rowell told officers that he had completed a shake-and-bake cook the night before officers arrived.

All four suspects were taken to the Sallisaw City Jail on June 1 and transferred to the Sequoyah County Jail June 3. Stonebarger was released Monday on a $30,000 bond and Bush was released June 3 on the same bond amount. Harvell and Rowell are currently being held on $30,000 bonds. All four suspect’s arraignments were scheduled for Wednesday in Sequoyah County District Court, Sallisaw.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
