Cindy Smith, club president, said Lt. Gov. Jari Askins would be speaking at the picnic. Smith said Kyle Waters, Sequoyah County Democratic chairman will be introducing the candidates who have signed up to speak.
A barbecue dinner, which cost $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12, includes barbecue, potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw, relishes, a drink and dessert. Smith invited everyone to attend.
“We had a good crowd last year and we are anticipating more people for this year.
“You can’t go wrong on this deal,” Smith said. “Listening to the speakers gets you better informed as you go to the polls.”
“This is a chance to visit with your representatives, senators and others and ask them questions. Also enjoy the food and the Democratic fellowship,” Smith said.
Smith said to remember to bring lawn chairs.
