A Gore man was hospitalized Monday after a two-vehicle collision five miles north of Gore on State Highway 100.

Alvie Denver Bruce, 19, was transported by Eagle Med to St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa and was listed in stable condition with arm, leg, head, and internal and external trunk injuries.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) trooper reported Bruce was driving a 2004 Ford Mustang south when his vehicle collided in the center of the highway with a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Justin Colby Morgan, 26, of Fort Gibson.

Trooper Stan Roedenbeck reported Morgan was not injured in the accident. Casey Swimmer, 16, of Gore was a passenger in the Mustang, and was transported by Pafford EMS to Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, for a welfare check and where she was treated and released.

The trooper reported that seatbelts were in use in both vehicles and the airbags in both vehicles deployed.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
