Dear Editor:

Are you thrilled by the prospect of an increase in your property taxes by almost 25 percent? If you are then nothing is required from you. Just ignore the bond election on Aug. 24. If the bond passes, that will be the result.

Indications are that enrollment is down even with the — out of district — transfers. The lack of tax revenue from these transfers is part of the problem. No one seems to be willing to acknowledge this ongoing problem.

Perhaps if the administration or whoever decides when to have these bond elections would stop trying to sneak them by when the least turnout is expected, we would have more trust in them.

Personally I am tired of the constant attempts to extract money from the residents of this district.

In this uncertain economy, now is not the time to be asking for another $1,000,000 building.

If you feel as I do then vote NO on this bond.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
