Local duo to play in OBCA Middle School All-State Game on Sunday
Two local baseball players, Sallisaw’s Brock Streun and Roland’s Carson Wiggins, will represent the area when they play in the 2024 Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association Middle School All-State Game, which will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday at Enid’s David Allen Memorial Ballpark.
Streun, who was named the All-District 4A-6 Player of the Year and signed a letter of intent with Crowder College in Neosho, Mo., batted .539 with four home runs and an on-base percentage of .657. On the mound, he was 3-1 pitching.
Wiggins, a University of Arkansas signee, went 3-2 this season with 93 strikeouts. When he pitched at home, which he mostly did, there were several Major League Baseball scouts in attendance with radar guns. In fact, in his pitching debate this season on March 12 at home vs. Spiro, 28 MLB scouts were in attendance.
