Sallisaw Black Diamonds get season-opening win for first time in 5 years

The last time the Sallisaw Black Diamonds won their football season opener was Sept. 6, 2019 — a 22-14 overtime win at home over Catoosa. However, the Black Diamonds changed that last Friday night.

After falling behind twice to the visiting Pryor Tigers, the Black Diamonds struck late in the first half to take the lead for good and the defense blanked Pryor in the second half for a 31-14 victory Friday night at Perry F. Lattimore Stadium.
