MULDROW FOOTBALL

Bulldogs off to 2-0 start for first time in 2 seasons

By DAVID SEELEY SPORTS EDITOR

WALDRON, Ark. — The Muldrow Bulldogs did not let the emotional win from the week before over archrival Roland in “The Battle of 64” get to them this past Friday night as they opened their season 2-0 for the first time two seasons as they won their first of two straight battle of Bulldogs with a 28-14 win over the host Waldron Bulldogs.

Both Teaguen Collins and DeShawn Willson each scored a rushing touchdown, while Collins threw for 175 yards and two TDs — one each to Gabe Miller and Jermauree Palmer.

Willson rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown.

“I thought our kids executed OK,” Muldrow coach Logan Coatney said. “By any means were we perfect. There were a lot of things Friday night that very easily could have gotten us beat. We had five possessions in the second half, and we turned the ball over on three of those possessions. Lucky for us, we had a lead (going into the second half), and our defense was able to keep Waldron from scoring.”

The second of two straight back-toback battle of Bulldogs will take place at 7 p.m. this Friday when Muldrow hits the road once more to take on Spiro at Spiro’s McClain Stadium.
