Lady Grizzlies take 2 from Oaks

The Gans Lady Grizzlies broke a six-game losing streak as they swept a home doubleheader from the Oaks Lady Warriors on Tuesday, winning the opener 10-0 in three innings and the nightcap 7-2.

In the opener, the Lady Grizzlies (36) scored once in the first inning and nine runs in the third inning for a 10-0 lead to put the game into run-rule status.

For the game, Gabbie Price was 2-for-2 with a triple, two runs batted in and two runs scored for Gans.

Destiny Phillips (2-3) got the win as she tossed a three-hitter.

In the nightcap, after the Lady Warriors (0-6) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Lady Grizzlies scored four runs in their half of the frame for a 4-1 lead. After Oaks cut its deficit to 4-2 in the third inning, Gans responded with a three-run third inning for a 7-2 lead after three innings.

For the game, K’Cee Osborn was 3-for-3 with her first home run of the season, two RBIs and two runs scored, Phillips was 2-for-2 with a double, four RBIs and a run scored, Abigail Leach tripled and scored twice and Price hit her second homer of the season and scored twice for Gans.

Yesenia Gaona (2-1) got the win in relief, going the final three innings with a strikeout. Phillips started and went the first two innings with a strikeout.

MULDROW 10, STILWELL 9

Tuesday afternoon in Muldrow, Kaydence Young scored the gamewinning run on a groundout by Reagan Newbern in the seventh inning to walk it off for the victory for the Lady Bulldogs (2-0).

For the game, Amarie Duran was 4-for-4 with a double, a triple, a run batted in and a run scored, Amaya Duran was 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored, Danica Tune was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and a run scored, Young was 2-for-4 with a double and scored the game-winning run and Eve Keenan was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Muldrow.

Jaydin Dean (2-0) got the win, recording two strikeouts.

GORE 16, CAMERON 2, 5 INN.

WISTER 10, GORE 2, 4 INN.

Tuesday at Cameron, the Lady Pirates (2-5) split their two road games.

In the win over Cameron, the Lady Pirates scored single runs in each of the first two innings for a 2-0 lead. After the Lady Yellowjackets (2-5) cut the deficit to 2-1 after two innings, the Lady Pirates scored twice in the third inning and once in the fourth inning for a 5-1 advantage. After Cameron cut the Gore lead to 5-2 after four innings, the Lady Pirates put away the game with an 11-run fifth inning to put the game into run-rule status.

For the contest, Emily Daily was 3-for-4 with a triple and three runs scored, Ricki Huckbay was 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs batted in and two runs scored, River Shoemake was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored, Sophie O’Connor was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Kennedy Williams was 2-for-3 with her first home run of the season, two RBIs and two runs scored, Mylee Bruce was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Keira Rowe was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored and Maddison Douglass doubled with two RBIs and a run scored for Gore.

Bruce (2-4) got the win, getting three strikeouts.

In the loss to Wister, after the Lady Pirates cut the deficit to 2-1 in the second inning, the Lady Wildcats (8-4) scored once in the second inning and three runs in the third inning for a 6-1 lead. After Gore cut the Wister advantage to 6-2 in the fourth inning, the Lady ’Cats put the game into run-rule status with a four-run fourth inning.

In defeat, Peyton Curran doubled and scored once, Williams singled and scored once and Bruce and Rowe each singled for Gore. Bruce took the loss.

OKTAHA 15, CENTRAL 1

HOWE 8, CENTRAL 4

Tuesday at the Porum Softball Festival, the Lady Tigers (3-5) lost both games on Day 2 of the event.

In the loss to Oktaha, the Muskogee County Lady Tigers (6-3) scored once in the first inning and twice In the second inning for a 3-0 lead. Central cut the deficit to 3-1 in the third inning but got no closer.

In defeat, Brianna Taylor was 2-for-3 with a runs scored, Ayrland Jiles was 2-for-2 and Alyvia Warner and Allie Harris were each 2-for-3 for Central.

Riley Rowland (3-5) took the loss, despite recording three strikeouts in seven innings.

In the loss to Howe, the Lady Lions (8-6) broke a 3-all tie with a two-run third inning to take a 5-3 lead. After the Lady Tigers cut the deficit to 5-4 in the fourth inning, the Lady Lions put away the game with a tworun fourth inning and a single run in the fifth inning.

In defeat, Brenleigh Allen was 3-for-3 with run batted in, Jiles was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored and Charlie Petree was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Central. Rowland took the loss.

WARNER 7, VIAN 0

WARNER 2, VIAN 1

Tuesday afternoon at Warner, the Lady Eagles (6-4) took a pair of games from the Lady Wolverines (2-4).

In the opener, the Lady Eagles broke a scoreless tie with a seven-run sixth inning for a 7-0 lead. Four of Warner’s runs were unearned due to three Vian errors.

In defeat, Eden Girty, Eden Gilbert and LaKoeta Cheater were all 2-for-3 for Vian. Rayleigh Terrill (2-4) took the loss.

In the nightcap, after the Lady Wolverines took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Lady Eagles scored twice in the sixth inning for the come-from-behind win to cap the doubleheader sweep.

In defeat, Halli Russell was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored, while Gilbert was 2-for-3 for Vian. Terrill took the loss.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The Webbers Falls Lady Warriors had Tuesday’s home game against Okay canceled.
