Black Diamonds players make All-District 4A-4 Team

To cap off a historic fourth season of soccer for the Sallisaw Black Diamonds, which saw them go 10-3 and make the Class 4A playoffs for the first time in school history, several players were named to the All-District 4A-4 Team.

Three players made the first team all-district — Wes Rodriguez, Rustyn Romero and Josh Taylor.

Six other players, Christian “Cito” Morales, Cesar Morales, Johan Salinas, Phillip Hennessee, Sama Salinas and Colin Kremer were honorable mention members on the all-district team.

“It represents all the hard work they’ve been putting in ever since this past summer, something similar to Summer Pride,” Sallisaw coach Sinue Rodriguez said. “They did specific soccer workouts. From June, for all these months, up until now, it shows the hard work we’ve been putting in, and this is very deserving for all of them. I’m very blessed, happy and proud for them.”
