Sallisaw, Muldrow baseball players make All-District Team
Eight local high school baseball players, five Sallisaw Black Diamonds and three Muldrow Bulldogs, were named to the 2025 All-District 4A-8 Team.
For the Black Diamonds, who finished 25-7 after losing Thursday night’s Class 4A State Tournament quarterfinal game to the Newcastle Racers, senior Creed Nelson, who signed with Oklahoma Wesleyan University on Feb. 5, was named the Pitcher of the Year, thanks to his 9-2 season on the mound.
Four other Black Diamonds were named to the first team all-district — senior outfielders Broque Oft and Brodie Cameron, senior catcher Connor Green, who signed Feb. 5 with Seminole State College — and junior infielder Luke Pack.
For the Bulldogs, who went 6-24 this season, Jonah Claborn, who signed on April 29 with Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo., to join his older brother Jacob, was named to the first-team all-district as a pitcher. Claborn eclipsed the 90-strikeout mark for the season and had close to 200 strikeouts for his career.
Muldrow junior catcher Wyatt Prewett and junior outfielder Gabe Miller were named to the second-team all-district.
